Denim Diary 2.0 is HERE! I can’t tell you how good it feels to finally be able to say that. The creation of this site, along with a full relaunch of Denim Diary, is a process I started working on all the way back in December of 2019. It has been such a labor of love and I’m so excited I finally get to share it with you all! So let’s get to what you’re really here for—THE DENIM! We’re doing Denim Diary’s second pair of shorts, the Ledoux Shorts from Savannah Sevens, by Ariat. If you recall, last year’s Denim Diary featured the Ledoux bootcut jeans, also a Savannah Sevens exclusive from Ariat. If you loved those, I have a feeling you might be a fan of these!

IMPRESSION

When it comes to shorts, my community and I are usually on the same page. We want quality denim, a little bit of stretch so things still fit when we’re a little sweaty, something that’s not short enough to show our booty, but not long enough to resemble a sausage casing. Simple right? Wrong. Dead. Wrong. Shorts frustrate the heck out of me, but all that being said, I think I’ve found a pair of shorts in the Ledoux from Savannah Sevens that you’re really going to love. 

What’s probably most important to note is that these babies have a 5” inseam, with an unhemmed bottom, that allows you to roll them if so desired. In my opinion, this is the perfect length! Overall, the fit is what’s considered to be a boyfriend, which I love because they have enough room to move in, but definitely aren’t baggy and saggy. The wash on these is a dark denim, with heavy whiskering on the front thighs. The pockets are a faintly stitched “X” design, that’s common on a lot of the denim that Ariat produces. 

SIZING

Here’s where you’re going to want to pay attention, because the sizing is a little different than most Ariat denim. 

I’m a size 6, occasionally sizing down to a 4. I bought a 26 in these, so I would recommend SIZING DOWN! If you’re someone who is a size X, but occasionally sizes down in jeans, then I would size down 2 sizes in these (that’s what I did). If you’re someone who is a size X, but occasionally sizes up in denim, then I would only size down 1 size. 

The material on these is a blend of 93% cotton, 5% polyester, 2% spandex.

These come in waist sizes from 25-34.
