I am, without a doubt, a book lover to my core. Early on, I fell in love with books and was a child who was constantly nose-deep into a new story. When Jhett’s teacher was looking for volunteers for our school’s Book Fair, I quickly volunteered. During my time at the Book Fair, I was shocked to see there wasn’t a single agriculture or farm-animal book offered to kids. With the help of my community, I put together a list of almost 100 best agriculture books for kids.

Before we get to the list, there are a couple of other ag + western book-related resources that I want to share:

Wild West Kidz Books – This is a children’s book subscription, that can be mailed as frequently (or infrequently) as you choose. Wildwest Kidz will deliver a box of three (3) carefully curated western-theme picture books to your mailbox each month. Becky only selects books with themes of farming, ranching, and rodeo. In addition to the books, each box comes with crafts and fun activities for your child that will encourage and grow those “rural roots.” This subscription would make a great gift to give to your own kids, friends, or family member. One could also gift a subscription box to your local school.

American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture – The American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture has a great list of recommended publications for children, all of which are centered around farming, gardening, and ranching.
