I’m so excited to bring you guys not one, not two, but THREE, fresh new denim short styles today! Denim shorts are a summer necessity, but most of us know they can be difficult to find. They always seem to be too tight, to lose, too short, or too long—even I struggle with finding a solid pair that checks all the boxes. I’ve spent quite a bit of time searching the internet for the perfect shorts to share, and I think I’ve found a few winners! Introducing, the Stella Stretch Short by BKE!

IMPRESSION

The Stella Denim Short by BKE is the classics of all classics; resembling that perfect pair of homemade cut-off’s that we all so desperately want to make ourselves, but can never figure out how. 

These are unhemmed, with a slight distressing on each leg, which really helps to give them that cut-off vibe. The back pockets have some whiskering and slight distressing. They do not have any distressing that’s large enough to where something will fall out. 

My only drawback on these, like the Payton, is that I wish they were an inch longer. With a 2.5” inseam, they’re just a little too short for my “Mom-on-the-Go” self. I know I have some girls who really like that shorter length short, and I think these would be perfect if that’s your preference. The only reason I gave these a rating of 8.5/10 was due to the inseam. So if you do prefer the shorter length then these would definitely be a perfect short for ya! 

SIZING

Buckle has these listed as a slim flit short, but I would consider them to be a regular fit. 

I am a size 28, and occasionally I will size down to a 27. Historically, I almost always size down to a 27 in BKE brand denim. I have a 27 in these, and they fit absolutely perfect. 

These are a blend of 99% Cotton, 1% Spandex, which puts them in the middle for stretch–in between the Victoria (most stretchy of the three) and the Payton (least stretchy of the three). 

If you’re someone who is very true in sizing or occasionally sizes down, I would recommend that you size down one size from your normal jean size in these. I would recommend sticking to your normal jean size, if you’re someone who tends to size up in pieces.
