When it comes to shorts, I would consider myself to be a shorts connoisseur. I wear them seven days out of the week in our summer months. One thing I do know about denim shorts is that they are DIFFICULT to find! It takes trying on 20 pairs of too tight, too stretchy, too short, too long shorts before a girl can find the one pair she’s willing to spend the summer in. IMPRESSION

There’s nothing I love more than a pair of quality denim shorts. I’m a big fan of the length of these Saltwater Shorts from Ariat. The 5” inseam ensures that they cover up anything you don’t want to show, without wading into the dangerous waters of the Bermuda short. The 5” inseam also allows for enough room to cuff them, if so desired. 

Since they’re unhemmed at the bottom, I do recommend washing them prior to wearing them; that way the hems are able to fray, giving them a bit of a lived-in look. 

The wash is a medium distressed denim, making them the perfect summer short. The back pockets are very flattering and don’t have any kind of design or stitching. 

SIZING

I’m a size 6, and I have a 28 in these, so I would recommend buying your true size. I will say, they’re a bit more fitted than I like, but after a wash and wear they became much more comfortable. If you’re someone who often sizes up in denim, then I would recommend sizing up in these as well. The denim is 100% cotton, so there’s little to no stretch.
